The LGPS:

Additional Regular Contributions (ARC)

You can pay additional contributions to buy up to £5,000 of extra annual pension in multiples of £250 - try our Additional Regular Contribution Calculator.

AVCs

AVCs are Additional Voluntary Contributions that you may wish to make to an individual separate investment fund with one of our approved providers – Prudential, or Standard Life (closed to new contributors).

Added Years

If you were buying added years membership before 1 April 2009, you can continue with your arrangement.

Police Pensions:

Added Years

If you do not qualify for a maximum pension because you are unable to complete 30 years (1987 PPS) or 35 years (2006 NPPS) calendar service by the age of compulsory retirement you may be able to purchase additional service.

Additional Voluntary Contributions

The 1987 PPS AVC Plan provides the option to pay contributions into an individual fund with Standard Life or Equitable Life. The AVC fund provides additional pension with the opportunity of taking 25% of your AVC fund as a tax free lump sum.

Additional Life Cover

Equitable Life offers death benefit cover for 1987 PPS members.

Fire Pensions:

Added Years

If you do not qualify for a maximum pension because you are unable to complete 30 years calendar service by compulsory retirement age (1987 FPS) or 40 years calendar service by age 60 (2006 NFPS) you may be able to purchase additional service.
