Civil Partnership

From December 2005, people in a same sex relationship are able to register that relationship as a 'civil partnership'. Civil partnership provides the couple with many of the same legal and financial rights and responsibilities as married couples.

The Local Government, Police and Fire Pension Scheme regulations have been amended to recognise Civil Partnerships.  Should you have any queries regarding the provision of pension benefits, please contact the Pensions Section.
