Our active members page provides information for contributing employees about current issues in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). Detailed information about membership and scheme benefits can be found in our new scheme guides, which are available in the LGPS Library and on request from the Pensions Section.

New LGPS

The main changes to the LGPS from 1 April 2009 were communicated to active members by way of a newsletter which is available in the LGPS Library.

If you were a member of the LGPS on 31 March 2009 and continued to have a contract of employment on 1 April 2009, you were automatically transferred into the new Scheme.

Internet Member Self Service

If you are already a member of the LGPS, you can view and update your personal details held on our systems by registering for Internet Member Self Service – a secure facility currently used by more than 2,000 members.
