Design and Browser Support
Aberdeen City Council Pension Fund's website has been designed to work in the major browsers Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera on a resolution of 800 by 600 pixels but works best for 1024 by 768 pixels and higher.
Accessibility
The site has been developed with accessibility in mind, considering the needs of a wide audience. The site conforms to AA (Double A) of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 1.0 (WCAG) and relies on Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control presentation and layout which provides faster download times and improved searching. Users can also add their own style sheet far more effectively. Visit our Accessibility page for more information.
A text-only (Alt + X) style sheet provides a high contrast view of the pages without images. The text sizes are designed to scale to a relatively large text size.
Navigation
Navigation has been provided through a left hand menu for each section, crumb trail, site map and quick links.
Site Structure
The site has six main sections and home, listed horizontally on every page, and a quick links section on the right hand side of the home page.
Site Map
The Site Map provides a list of pages by section.
Search
The search function provides a means for a basic Search and an advanced search. There is also a Search Tips page which provides information on Advanced Search functionality such as wildcards, Boolean searches, stemming and phonic searching.
